Transport Economics, Finance & Appraisal sessions announced
This year has seen a record number of papers submitted and accepted by the Transport Economics, Finance & Appraisal (TEFA) programme committee.
We go back to basics with papers challenging the fundamentals of economic appraisals including values of time, treatment of uncertainty and taxation. There remains continued interest in road user charging and the implications of paid parking. The impact of high inflation, something we haven’t really had to worry about for a considerable length of time, is considered.
Assessing the social and environmental impacts of transport remains an important area of focus with papers addressing issues such as population dynamics, human health, and social welfare, urban income inequality, the impact of low-emission zones on vulnerable households and the costs associated with road crashes. While the vexed question of the impact of working from home on agglomeration effects is explored.
