Over the last few years, the importance of good data and good data collection on travel behaviour has been widely recognised. The innovation of data collection methods has moved forward, and more countries and metropolitan areas are working towards regular collection of revealed travel behaviour. In addition, the scope of interest regarding the collection of travel data has broadened towards issues in the social domain like transport poverty, broad prosperity and inclusion of mobility parameters in the sustainable development goals.
The Data committee is therefore very happy to present a special topic session at the ETC 2023 on (National) Travel Surveys to hear about the many insights and challenges regarding data collection for travel surveys. This will be alongside the usual wide spectrum of data topics such as:

Gender, safety
