ETC 2021: Rail Planning & Policy Programme
ETC 2021: 13 - 15 Sept
RAIL PLANNING & POLICY
The Rail Planning and Policy programme is focused on developing the knowledge on planning, economics and use of heavy rail. During the COVID 19 pandemic, footfall has fallen dramatically but there is a future for rail after the pandemic even more than before the crisis!
Enhancement of the quality of the rail network and its use is pivotal for our society and our wellbeing. The political and economical organisation of developing rail networks, and customer satisfaction with train use, are key elements in creating a more sustainable society.
Also this year, lots of interesting presentations will be available on topics such as the future of rail strategy, demand forecasting, future trends affecting rail, high speed trains, station accessibility and design, and of course we pay attention to the influence of COVID 19 on rail demand. Again, we have some shared sessions with Transport Economics, Finance and Appraisal with topics concerning competition and appraisal.
Presented online, the conference will maintain its distinctive multi-disciplinary, multi-streamed format, with ETC 2021 providing a forum for debate and reflection as we navigate towards a new era after COVID.
